Artificial Lawn Installation Guide

1. Remove Grass: It is time to excavate the top four-inch part of your existing lawn and base. Dispose of this material according to the recommendations in your area. It would be nice to have a dump trailer on location because this soil stacks up in a hurry.
2. Add Base: Put class two road base approximately three inches from where the turf is going to sit. The turf base provides an even surface with good drainage. Lightly sprinkle water on it and then compact it to a smooth finish. Add gopher wire or even a weed barrier, if you desire, to prevent plants and pests from getting into it. Gopher isn’t essential; weed barrier shouldn’t be included in case there will be pets.
3. Lay Turf: Spread three inches of Class Two Road Base over the area. A good base will give you a smooth, level surface that drains. Lightly wet the area. Compact it: You want to compact the area to create a smooth starting point for the turf.
4. Installing turf for your particular yard: You may wish to add gopher wire and a weed barrier to prevent vegetation in your yard. If you have pets, do not put down a weed barrier.
5. Cut to Fit: Spread three inches of class two road base uniformly where the turf will be laid. The base must create a platform that can be reasonably leveled with proper drainage. Slightly wet the area and then compact it to make it smooth. You can add gopher wire and a weed barrier indeed to keep minimum infiltration of the plant and pest. However, you may not require a weed barrier if, in case, you have lawn pets.
6. The Perimeter: Secure When laying turf, spread three inches of class two road base uniformly.
7. Spread Infill: Depending on the grass type, the infill affects not only the appearance but also the performance and durability of your lawn. Use a drop spreader to create an even distribution of infill.
8. Brush Infill: After an infill, puch the turf with a broom so all the blades will be upright and resemble a newly mowed lawn. At last, the grass is watered to remove dust.
9. Enjoy Your Lawn!: Rinse up your lawn and clean up. Now sit back and enjoy your beautiful new turf. No more early morning mowing. Just brush it a couple of times a year to keep it looking new.
